Jahrhunderts auf dem Balkan ist immer noch Gegenstand vieler Debatten. Mit dem Ende des Kommunismus und dem Entstehen neuer Staaten wurde eine Revision der Geschichte als notwendig angesehen. Die fr\u00fcher vorherrschende Geschichtsdarstellung wurde nun als &#8220;kommunistische Propaganda&#8221; bezeichnet, was bis zu einem gewissen Grad auch stimmte. Die darauffolgenden Geschichtsrevisionen zielten jedoch oft nicht darauf ab, eine wahrheitsgetreuere und an den Tatsachen orientierte Version der Geschichte zu pr\u00e4sentieren, sondern vielmehr darauf, neue historische Propaganda zu produzieren. In diesen neuen nationalen (und oft auch nationalistischen) Geschichtsnarrativen wurde die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung ausschlie\u00dflich in einem positiven Licht dargestellt &#8211; als Helden, Opfer oder Retter &#8211; w\u00e4hrend die Nachbarv\u00f6lker typischerweise nur negativ dargestellt wurden. Dadurch gerieten diese divergierenden lokalen Narrative \u00fcber die Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts auf dem Balkan in einen direkten Konflikt. Diese ma\u00dfgeschneiderten Geschichtsnarrative, die auf einer selektiven Verwendung von Fakten oder Halbwahrheiten beruhen, werden in allen L\u00e4ndern der Region tagt\u00e4glich f\u00fcr niedere politische Zwecke genutzt.<\/p>\n<p>BALKAN HISTORY ist ein Projekt, das sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, historische Fakten zu kontroversen Ereignissen auf dem Balkan im 20.
