[vc_section][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Chetniks (Serbian\/Croatian Cyrillic\/Latin: \u0427\u0435\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0446\u0438\/\u010cetnici<\/em>) were members of a guerrilla movement that emerged at the beginning of the Second World War in Yugoslavia under the leadership of Dragoljub Dra\u017ea Mihailovi\u0107 (Serbian Cyrillic: \u0414\u0440\u0430\u0433\u043e\u0459\u0443\u0431 \u0414\u0440\u0430\u0436\u0430 \u041c\u0438\u0445\u0430\u0438\u043b\u043e\u0432\u0438\u045b). Although the movement\u2019s initial goal was to fight those who had invaded and occupied the country, very early on the Chetniks went into open collaboration with the occupiers and their Yugoslav allies. Instead of liberating the country, for the rest of the war the Chetniks\u2019 main purpose would be fighting the Yugoslav Partisans and communists.
